I am an Advanced Respiratory Medicine Physiotherapist with a specialist interest in Bronchiectasis and research. I lead the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Physiotherapy Bronchiectasis service.
I graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 2011. I completed my junior rotations in Northumbria Foundation Trust before moving to a senior respiratory post in Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals.
I will start an NIHR Pre-doctoral Clinical Academic Fellowship in September 2020. This will strengthen my relationships between clinical and academic specialists throughout the UK and wider. I hope to use these new and existing relationships to direct members for support, mentorship and learning opportunities.
Working at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust allows access to a wealth of medical, nursing and AHP specialists including; COPD, Bronchiectasis, ILD and severe Asthma.
I aim to use my professional relationships with colleagues in these areas to link with other specialists throughout the UK for teaching opportunities for short courses and conferences.
I am passionate about leading and developing others. I help lead service evaluations, audits and quality improvements in respiratory medicine to strive for clinical excellence, improved patient outcomes and experience.
As the long term condition champion I hope to provide a positive, enthusiastic, hardworking attitude to drive the association forward in the areas of respiratory medicine.
