Apply to be the Surgical Champion.
This role provides the ACPRC committee with support for membership from the clinical specialism perspective. The Champions are not necessarily experts across the entirety of their area but are able to show a high level of clinical interest and enthusiasm for the specialism. They are responsible for signposting members to relevant information, current evidenced based practice and skills. They will lead short courses bringing in speakers (ensuring diversity and excellence in all speakers). They will provide content for conference. They will ensure they have access to a breadth and depth of experts within the respiratory community. They will provide relevant content for the newsletter.
They have the following roles (although not exclusive)
- To be a member of the ACPRC with an interest and experience in the specific Champion area of physiotherapy.
- To be a point of contact within the ACPRC for physiotherapists within the UK who have a special interest in the specific Champion area of physiotherapy.
- To help to signpost members to individuals who may be able to provide support, advice and guidance for all ACPRC members nationally or within their locality.
- To disseminate information that could influence clinical practice and service development within the specific Champion area of Physiotherapy through:
- ACPRC Newsletter
- ACPRC website
- Local or national meetings/study days/Congress
- Social Media
- Physiotherapy Frontline
- To work closely with and support the other ACPRC champions.
- To hold meetings, either in the form of a study day or as part of an ACPRC conference, as a discussion forum open to all physiotherapists working in the specific Champion area of Physiotherapy to exchange information and ideas.
- To work closely with other ACPRC committee members, medical, nursing and other AHP associations to ensure that ACPRC members are represented.
- To ensure that champion reports are completed and circulated to all ACPRC committee members prior to the quarterly meetings. To compile an annual report for the AGM.
- To liaise with the ACPRC Chair and/or other committee members with any concerns regarding the champions post.
- To contribute to the monthly ACPRC electronic newsletter and to encourage members to contribute to the ACPRC journal.
- To ensure all relevant information is added to the website / highlighted on social media in a timely manner.
- To work with other committee members and ACPRC members to organise an annual study day or specific sessions which form part of the ACPRC Conference.
